Reception

Guppy's house. What little furniture there is has been mostly moved upstairs, apart from the threadbare sofa, bean bag and a few newly mended garden chairs.

The whole area is decorated with ribbons and flowers.

Rapunzel helps herself to a glass of wine, and looks around at the mix of guests with interest. She isn't entirely sure which are from Milliways, and which aren't. She isn't sure if she should be trying to disguise the rapid growth of her hair or not.

"Oh, Congradulations." she touches Frogspawn gently on the arm (Nothing impolite).

"I know Guppy will make a wonderful dad." she doesn't want to use the word father.

Amanda moves to stand between the two women. "Hey, this is Guppy and Frogspawns wedding day. Show some respect."

Momiji (who has managed to find a proper, normal suit for the wedding, even if that matching top hat might be a bit much) slinks by the dining table to leave a pair of gifts. One is significantly larger than the other, but both are wrapped in mist-green paper with unreasonably sized hearts printed all over.

The bigger package has cushy, "his and hers" bathrobes, the "his" in deep purple and the "hers" in light pink. Both have the intended owners' names across the backs - "Guppy" and "Frogspawn." Hopefully they fit.

The smaller parcel contains a sizeable basket of chocolate dipped fruit, starting with strawberries and cherries towards the top and getting progessively more exotic as one gets towards the bottom.

With the presents delivered, the rabbit-boy slinks out towards the rest of the reception to get a look around.

"Hi." Frogspawn approaches Raps and grins. "Don't worry, most of the non-bar folk aren't stopping too long."

"You're looking pretty dapper, yourself."

She thinks back, and tries to remember what she's heard of the crop circle phenom.

"Something about aliens landing in wheat fields or some such? I had no idea there was a following for it."

"This is none of your business." Guppy's mother says coldly. Frogspawn's mother glowers.

"This wedding should not have happened, let alone the baby."

"There's a baby?"

"Thank you." Guppy grins. Frogspawn grins too.

"It's very exciting, we're trying to prepare."

"Hello, and congratulations! You make a lovely bride."

She smiles and shakes her head.

"I just don't want to make things uncomfortable for you and Guppy...my hair grows four inches and hour, and it might be awkward if anyone noticed."

Momiji is not so up on British wedding customs, but he's betting that this might not be one of them. Also, sort of staring, his top hat off center on his head, and trying to think of something to do.

A more cautious Sohma boy would probably do anything to avoid getting in between two angry women swinging small forms of luggage. But, then again, there's a reason Momiji occasionally gets people sent to watch him in public, at the age of sixteen.

Which is to say that he steps right in the middle of the pair, looking from side to side and grinning without any perceptible nervousness.

"Hi!" His accent, though clearly Asian, is still pretty understandable.

"Yes it should happen. They are nice young people who deserve to be happy and that is exactly what they are." she shakes her head disappointed at the two.

"Thank you." Frogspawn grins. "I don't think anyone will. But if you're worried I can find you a bandana."

"If there is anything I can do to help." she offers.

And unable to hold it in any longer she hugs Guppy and whispers in his ear. "I'm so glad you are happy. You deserve this."

The two women stare at him.

"This is none of your business." Guppy's mother says shortly.

Medusa is many things today - nervous, uncomfortable, flighty - but this doesn't mean she's unobservant by any means. The shouting attracts her attention and, all that anger-driven presence firmly in place, the Gorgon walks over.

She'll give them a moment to notice her before she'll take it into her own hands.

"We turned up, didn't we?" Frogspawn's mother says. "And we didn't interrupt."

"Thank you. I'm so glad you could make it." Guppy says. Frogspawn smiles and leaves the two to it for a bit.

"How are you?"

Her voice calms a bit, the tone warm, "And it's done. They are married.Going to start a family. So why are you fighting?"

"I am wonderful." she looks at him, "But I have missed you soo much."

The young man blinks, turning his head from one to the other and then back again, still smiling.

"But...why're you whacking each other?"

There are times at which Momiji is serious enough to put to rest any questions about his particularly young-seeming age. This isn't one of them, though it's hard to place how much of his levity is being feigned.

"Can I play, too, if somebody gives me their purse?"

Amanda notices the woman getting herself a drink and comes over to help herself to a glass of wine.

"Hello." she greets, "I'm Amanda" extending her free hand.

Left among the other presents -- a very small leather pouch, containing a pair of golden earrings sporting exactly the same fish and tadpole design that is on Frogspawn's engagement ring.-

"I've missed you too. Though a younger version of you is in the bar now so I see you a bit."

They don't notice, too busy trying to mess one another's outfits up.

"We're having a row." Frogspawn's mother snaps at him. "And I was winning."

"You were not."
