Guppy's house. What little furniture there is has been mostly moved upstairs, apart from the threadbare sofa, bean bag and a few newly mended garden chairs.

The whole area is decorated with ribbons and flowers.

The young man blinks, turning his head from one to the other and then back again, still smiling.

"But...why're you whacking each other?"

There are times at which Momiji is serious enough to put to rest any questions about his particularly young-seeming age. This isn't one of them, though it's hard to place how much of his levity is being feigned.

"Can I play, too, if somebody gives me their purse?"

"We're having a row." Frogspawn's mother snaps at him. "And I was winning."

"You were not."

"Oh."

Momiji shies back a little at the woman's tone, giving a quick wince, before asking curiously:

"So...a row's like a fight, right?"

"Yes."

Somehow explaining it has taken the energy out of the battle.

"Okay."

The boy pops his hat off his head, holding it in both hands and thoughtfully running his hands along the edges of its bottom.

"Can you do it later? You'll make the bride and groom and everyone sad."

"Don't look at me." Frogspawn's mother snaps at Guppy's. "He's not from my side of the family."

Both mothers begin to look embarrassed at being told off by a child.

"Uhm, so...be nice, now, and then..."

Momiji can't exactly think of a good, cure-all solution to family strife. (Or even inter-wedding guests strife, at this point.) As such, it takes him a little while to figure out what to finish off with.

"Then you can argue a whole lot about what to name the baby, instead?"

"... there's a baby!" Guppy's mother screeches.

Frogspawn's mother smirks and wanders off.

The rabbit-boy looks rather gratified as the two parents split up, even if the comment about the baby doesn't seem to have gone over well. Turning to Guppy's mom, he plops his hat back on his head, starting to rummage in one of his pockets.

"Uh-huh...that's what Guppy said, at least. It's really sweet!"

"It can't be born yet." she says suspiciously. "You don't mean Ani do you?"

"No...the baby Guppy and his wife are going to have!" Momiji shakes his head, trying not to look amused at the woman's confusion.

"I don't think they're going to have it for a pretty long while. You should ask them about it!"
