"That would make a really great photo. Feeling cruel?"
"It would provide some light relief in the staff room. Still, we can't let Harry know about the cat, and it would be a bit of a giveaway."
"Should we wake him?"
"Yeah, I think we should. He's going to feel that otherwise. And we probably should check he isn't actually unconscious. Wakey wakey Guppy."
Abs leans down and shakes him gently on the shoulder. Guppy moans.
"What?"
"Much as Nina and I would like to take a picture of you like this, it probably would be better if you actually went to bed."
Guppy opens his eyes and looks up. The first thing he notices is the smell of cat. The second is that he has in fact fallen asleep whilst feeding Scampi, and is now curled up on his cat bed. He sits up hurriedly.
"We don't have to go back do we?"
"Nah, don't be daft. Nobody's expecting any of us to do anything other than eat and crash. Although I don't think Scamps is going to appreciate you sharing his bed so you might want to crash in your own."
Okay, I get the point
Guppy smiles and gets up.
I am never going to live this down.
