Having collected everyone from the bar, Guppy leads them back through to the house, where they enter through the kitchen.

The living room furniture has been mostly moved out of the way, and that's where the most of the party has been set up. The sofa and some chairs are around the edge of the room, and there's music playing. The kitchen is a bit small so the food is being taken through into the dining room. Also a little on the small side, but enough for purpose. All of the baby gates are open on the ground floor, but not on the stairs.

Upstairs, the spare bedroom has been set aside for any little people at the party. It's a bit quieter, with baby-sized food, some toys, and a DVD of Pingu playing.

"Figured you'd have done it by now if you could."

"Do you play football?" As in soccer.

"With the ball that's really a ball? Sure!"

"Great, if you like you can help me teach Alex when the bar flu clears. Not quite as exciting as flying, but it'll be fun."

"That does sound fun! Sure, I'll help!"

"Cool, he'll like that. I've tried to teach him myself, but he just stares at the ball like I'm nuts."

"Well, I'll see what I can do!"

"It's easier for him to do things if he can see someone else do it."

"That makes sense."

"And it's hard to kick a football to yourself."

"Unless you're bouncing it in the air, but you can't do a whole game like that."

"Yeah, and that's not how to play."

"It'd be funny, though."

"I don't think he has big enough feet to bounce it on the spot yet."

"That's true. I guess we'll just have to start with the BASICs," he says in mock-disappointment.

"Don't worry, he's growing like a weed. He does something new on a weekly basis."

Enzo grins. "What's he done lately?"

"Well, he's just started putting two words together in a meaningful way. I mean, he can repeat sentences, but he's too young to construct his own. So if I say 'Put your coat on', he'll say 'Put coat on', but he most likely doesn't know what 'put' or 'on' mean, so if he wanted his coat he'd usually just say 'coat' or point."

Small smile. "But the other day when we were in the bar, I heard him say 'Enzo coat' when you were talking about colds. And he did that of his own accord. That's great for his age; most babies are only just saying first words."
