Reception

Guppy's house. What little furniture there is has been mostly moved upstairs, apart from the threadbare sofa, bean bag and a few newly mended garden chairs.

The whole area is decorated with ribbons and flowers.

Alex leads Rapunzel onto the dance floor, much as he did at the housewarming party, only this time in a suit.

The bride and groom are dancing nearby, trying not to let her high heels sink into the grass.

A;ex nods and smiles at the couple. "Congrats to you both!"

"Thanks." Guppy grins and holds Frogspawn from sinking. "Are you two having fun?"

"Of course," he says, answering for both of them (but only because he knows she doesn't mind too much). "But it's your party. You;re the ones who should be having fun."

"We are." Frogspawn says with a grin. "We had a few teething problems this morning but that makes it all the better when they're smoothed out."

"Yes." Guppy says. "The cat ate the cake."

"The cat...boy, nothing ever stays calm, does it?" The cat, and the interruption at the ceremony...wacky fun.

"Yeah, I couldn't get in my dress either until my sister pinned it." Frogspawn adds. "But the important thing is we succeeded."

The smile dampening a little. "I recognised the man who interrupted actually, he used to be married to my younger sister. He must have seen me and thought I was her."

Guppy gives her a squeeze.

"Oh." The smile fades a bit. It's not funny, is it?

"Don't worry about it." Frogspawn says, managing a small smile. "That's a problem for another day."

"Can I get you a drink either of you?" Guppy asks.

"I think we will help ourselves after the dance." A dance both most likely want to keep gong for a long while. "Just go and have fun."

"All right." Guppy and Frogspawn dance on.

Rapunzel is wearing a pretty sun dress as she steps into Alex's arms with a smile.

"I feel slightly over dressed. I have no idea what the Holby Crop Circle Society is, though."

"You look wonderful tonight," he says, echoing that old Clapton song. "And Frogspawn belongs to a group that chases after crop circle sightings. You know about that?" They begin to sway to the music.

"You're looking pretty dapper, yourself."

She thinks back, and tries to remember what she's heard of the crop circle phenom.

"Something about aliens landing in wheat fields or some such? I had no idea there was a following for it."

"There's a lot of conspiracy theories about it...aliens, pranksters, fairies. And that always gets a following. Though in this case, I think Frogspawn and her friends are not looking for ET or one of your compatriots so much as just something weird that gets them out of Holby." Alex smiles at this, since he thinks it makes a lot more sense than chasing conspiracies.

She nods in understanding.

"Something a bit odd and fun to give them a reason to get together in a larger group and enjoy each other's company."

"That's how Guppy explained it. Although who knows? Maybe they're onto something big and keep it themselves." He doubts it, but he likes Frogspawn, so why mess with her fun?

"There's always a possibility. I like that her middle name is Rainbow; it quirky and sweet, for a mundy."

She gives him a soft kiss, because she can.

"There's a lot of non-bar people here; I'll have to be careful."

"About your hair, you mean? Or about what we say?" There's no reason to think anyone is paying close attention, but then Alex has gone to parties in Gotham and overheard choice bits of potential news.

"I just figured if anyone noticed, we could say it was a rare medical condition, and that would satisfy most."

She's had time to think about this, after all.

"But I really should nip away every so often to trim a bit off, just in case."

"I'm not sure you wouldn't get someone curious, though. At least a few of the guests must be doctors." He's smirking, though, pretty sure that most of the people who would have worked with Guppy aren't interested in groundbreaking follicle research or talking shop.

"It's a risk, but then, Guppy can always claim he has no idea what they're talking about, and had never seen me before in his life, and then I'll mysteriously vanish. Maybe a crop circle will appear soon after, and they'll be forced to deduce that there was an alien in their midst."

She winks at him as she laughs. It's a good day.

"A very pretty, graceful alien," he says as he dips Rapunzel, kisses her, and flings her about just a bit. And somehow, he does it in time to the music!

She laughs, enjoying seeing him show off a little.

"And to think, you told me you weren't a good dancer when we met."
