Apr. 9th, 2006 03:46 pmIt had turned into a vicious cycle. Get up exhausted, work all day, go to bed because exhausted, spend the night tossing and turning, waking up repeatedly from nightmares and being paged, get up exhausted the next morning.
But for now the young doctor sleeps peacefully. Two times called out, but no nightmares. Even though he wasn't able to take his medication being on call.
He gets up as normal, saying nothing about it to Nina. Too often he has said that he thinks the night torment is over. But he eats breakfast and heads off, finding an appetite and general feeling of well being.
And as he enters the emergency department, he is all too unaware of the eyes that watch him making his way across Reception, unblinking until he disappears through the next set of doors.
