Guppy gets into his car with the newly fixed window and spots a piece of paper under the windscreen wiper. He gets out again and picks it up, expecting it to be a flier.
I’m out on bail, and there’s nothing you can do. Prepare for death.
He gets back into the car, looks out the back window and freezes. In the back mirror he sees a man with a crowbar coming around the side of the car. He starts the car and drives off, his assailant getting into his own car and following behind. He panics and tries to drive faster as the man gets closer and closer, until the bumpers are almost touching. Then he is being rammed from behind.
The traffic lights ahead are on red. He tries to weave between the cars, but they’re coming too fast. He brakes…
Nothing happens. He pulls the handbrake but the car continues to race onwards.
He swerves around the oncoming vehicle, losing the man for a few seconds while he tries to stop. Fourth gear, third gear, second gear, brick wall, BRICK WALL.
He has slowed down enough to avoid a high-speed impact, but nevertheless, the car hits with a resounding smash. The force is enough to send the airbags out.
Okay, breathe. No neck pain, no back pain, can still feel legs. You’re all right. Pretty incredible seeing as you’re in the world’s most dangerous place.
This thought is no understatement, Holby having had three acts of terrorism, a plane crash, a helicopter crash and two railway crashes [OOC: And those are just the ones I know about]. Its medical staff have an extremely high death rate.
Out of the corner of his eye he sees the crowbar. He ducks just in time as it comes smashing through the window. His door is pulled open as he is dragged out by the scruff of his neck and thrown to the ground.
The man raised the crowbar.
DON’T JUST SIT THERE, RUN!
He dodges the bar and scrambles to his feet. He ducks, kicks the guy where it hurts and runs for it. He dodges down an alleyway.
It’s a dead-end, except for a door with ‘High Voltage’ on it. He turns, and sees the man, smiling and wielding the crowbar. He backs away until he is pressed right up against the door…
Smash.
