Guppy's 30th Birthday Party

Having collected everyone from the bar, Guppy leads them back through to the house, where they enter through the kitchen.

The living room furniture has been mostly moved out of the way, and that's where the most of the party has been set up. The sofa and some chairs are around the edge of the room, and there's music playing. The kitchen is a bit small so the food is being taken through into the dining room. Also a little on the small side, but enough for purpose. All of the baby gates are open on the ground floor, but not on the stairs.

Upstairs, the spare bedroom has been set aside for any little people at the party. It's a bit quieter, with baby-sized food, some toys, and a DVD of Pingu playing.

Free food is the best kind of food there is, if you ask Penny.

She takes a few bites of cheese and crackers, and off the veggie tray as well.

"Hi Penny, thanks for coming and for the present." Guppy says, grabbing a mini cake. "I'm going to open them all afterwards, so nothing gets trodden on."

"Thanks for the invite! I'm kinda...still not quite sure how I've managed to be able to be here, but...I'm glad I am!"

Getting out of Milliways is nice.

"You're safe for a few days." Guppy says, "So you'll be fine for an evening. How are you?"

She nods, still smiling. "I'm pretty good. Starting to get accustomed to Milliways, and beings...life-challenged."

"It does take a bit of time." Guppy says. "My wife's upstairs at the moment, but she's managed to get used to bar things without having even been there."

There's a bit of a laugh from her, "Yeah, with all the very different people in Milliways...you never know what sort of creature will show up next."

Shrug. "It would be hard for her to not know, given how big a part of my life Milliways is. One of my earlier girlfriends nearly got me sectioned when she saw me getting back through the fridge."

She nods. "I guess that makes sense. I mean, it'd be difficult to deal with that sort of thing."

"Frogspawn's good with it." Grin. "I'm lucky to have her. Now what can I get you to drink?"

There's a small smile. These are things she can't have anymore.

"I'd like a glass of wine, I think. Haven't had any in a long time."

Can't have what you can't afford.

"Well while you're here, eat and drink as much as you like." Guppy says. "Red or white?"

Ben comes over with a half eaten slice of cake to say, "Sorry ta interrupt but this cake is great!"

A tall almost-teen is contemplating the veggies with bright purple eyes; he already has icing on his face, and is considering making a show of responsibility by consuming a few nutrients as well.

"The veggie dip's pretty good," she says, smiling. "I recommend it with the carrots."

She smiles, "I'm Penny."

She'd offer a hand, but both are full with snack and drinkables.

"It's nice to meet you, Enzo. Milliways?" It's a fair assumption, and if not, ur...she'll figure something out.

"Yeah." He grins. "I'm not even usually human."

She arches an eyebrow. "Fun change?"

"It's interesting. Took a lot of getting used to the first time."

She nods, "That makes sense. I don't know if I'd like a change like that much. Well...maybe."

As she's, you know, dead.

"I dunno if I'd do it that much for itself, but it's worth it to visit Userspace. Anyway, it's supposed to be a lot easier to get used to the other way around."

"Other way around?" she asks, "Can I ask...what sort of being you are normally?"

That's the most polite way she can think of asking.
