"You want to enter Sparky into a dog show? Why?"
Guppy fidgets. "So I can get used to dogs."
Frogspawn eyes him suspiciously. "I'm not sure that's a good idea. Has someone been questioning your manliness again?"
Guppy goes red. "No. Not much. Not as such. Not directly."
"C'mon Fish, I know you're a man, you've not got to prove anything." She rolls her eyes. "Don't put the poor dog through all that. Why not get to know Scooby?"
"He dragged me through four hedges into a pond." Guppy says, moving over to take Alexander in his arms and cuddle his young son.
