The tiny little clothes made his stomach feel like lead. With the promise that he could return any unworn ones, he got a selection just in case, but the smallest ones barely fit on the palm of his hand.
I don't have the luxury of being able to say 'I can't do this'. If it happens, it happens, and there's no way either of us can control it.
He looks at the clock; half past seven. The hospital won't let him stay with Frogspawn all night, and she wouldn't have it if they did.
He slips a tiny pair of socks into his pocket, then goes in search of company.
