Jul. 26th, 2008 08:57 pmSeeing his parents' house with so little furniture is very weird. Most of it has been sold or shipped off to India already, but a few items remain.
Guppy supposes he can't actually complain; it's kind of them to let him have anythingleft over. But he was expecting slightly more to remain than a broken table lamp, a pair of broken garden chairs and a rug with a hole in the middle. But he thanks his mother anyway.
"Oh, and these are for you." she hands him a couple of bags. "I know you already retrieved most of your own stuff."
Guppy looks through it. Mainly photos. Mostly photos of him.
"Oh, thanks."
"And there's the portrait. We can't take it safely and I know you like it."
Guppy isn't sure whether to be happy or not, but he makes two trips to carry stuff back before collecting Ani from them. The baby dozes right off to sleep in his arms.
