Aug. 29th, 2007 09:46 pm"What have we got?" Guppy runs an eye down the whiteboard. Emily comes up next to him.
"I have an ingrowing toenail in one and food poisoning in three. And Miss Rail, query MI is having an ECG whilst waiting for a bed. Cubicle four, Mr West has a hand laceration."
"Okay, I'll go and see Mr West..."
"Guppy, Holly needs you to take the one coming in by ambulance ETA one minute, OD." Yells someone down the corridor.
"You take Mr West, tell ingrowing toenail guy it's up to another three hour wait and he'll go and see his GP so you won't have to deal with him. He's not an emergency, he's not a priority."
Guppy leaves her and heads out to the ambulance bay, where paramedics are already unloading his next patient. He takes one look at the man and winces.
"What's Holly doing?" he calls to the nurse who came out with him.
"She's with another patient, VF in Resus. Why?"
"No reason." Guppy says quietly, getting the patient obs for Thomas Lambert as they rush the man through.
