"Did anyone see you sir?"
"No, it was late. It was dark."
"I'll make a note of it."
Guppy sighs as he heads out of the station. At which point his phone rings. Unknown caller. He answers it.
"Don't do that."
"What? Who is this?"
"You know who it is Dr Sandhu. You're in enough trouble already. If you start digging me further in it, it's going to be harder for you to drop the charges now, isn't it?"
"I'm not dropping the charges Stitch. You deserve everything you're getting."
"I know where you live. I know where your mother lives. I know where your grandmother lives. You go to the police once more and I'll be sending the boys over, got it? I do not want to do that, so don't push me and make your mind up soon."
The phone goes dead. Guppy looks at it worriedly, then taps in his mother's number.
"Mum? Don't hang up, it's really important. I need you to look out for... Mum... don't hang up... damnit." He tries again, but she doesn't pick up. With a sigh, he dials his grandmother.
"Nana? I don't want you to panic, but you remember that man I told you about? The boss from work who tried to hurt me?... Try and remember Nana... no, that was my teacher, I mean the consultant, Stitch Lambert. Nana, just look out him, okay? Lock the doors, and don't let him in."
Beat.
"No, Stitch Lambert, not Teddy. He was the thug when I was in school... well no, of course Stitch isn't his real name, it's Theodore or something... Nana, I have to go, please, just be careful, okay? Love you too, bye."
Feeling only slightly less worried, he heads home.
