Aug. 1st, 2006 02:57 pmGuppy turns to the man hovering by his shoulder.
"Nathan, please, I'm trying to treat a patient. Can we make an appointment or something? Excuse me." he says to the patient as there is a scream and a crash from a nearby cubicle.
He breaks into a run when he sees a young man shouting abuse at Tess, ward sister, currently sitting in the middle of a torn down curtain.
"Woah, let's back off and calm down." he says, stepping carefully in between the two. In the corner of his eye he can see Ellen dialling the number for security. He glances down at the boy in the cubicle with a very familiar hoodie. The boy has swollen hands, already looking infected. Dark brown eyes peer out from below the hood, then he points at Guppy.
"Hey Will, that's the guy from the park. Tried to touch me with his filthy hands."
"You'd fallen off your skateboard, I was just seeing if you wanted help." Guppy says, beginning to feel outraged by all of this but trying to keep cool.
"Doctor Sandhu will you please not wander off when I'm talking to you." comes Nathan's voice from behind him. Guppy looks around.
"Nathan please, I'll be with you in a minute."
He looks around just as the fist comes into contact with his face.

"Well at least we have time to talk now."
Guppy inwardly groans. As if it isn't bad enough being knocked down by a seventeen year old at work because someone decided to distract him at a vital moment, he now has no excuse but to talk to Nathan whilst he has his head sutured. Tess glowers at the administrator.
"Nathan, if you hadn't been bothering the doctor when he was trying to negotiate a tricky situation perhaps he wouldn't have been hit. You're getting quite good at dodging now."
"I shouldn't have to be good at dodging. Why do people have to keep hitting me? Ow."
Nathan bites his lip. "I'm working on the security situation, but yes, it does seem to be getting worse. I'm... I'm sorry Guppy. I hadn't realised you were in the middle of a dangerous situation. Now, about this syringe..."
"Nathan, I don't know anything about the syringe."
