Coral's first birthday party

Outside in a quiet corner of the garden, well away from the lake, a birthday party has been set up.

There's a paddling pool with some toys in, a picnic spread out on a cloth, and a sign saying 'Happy Birthday Coral'.

Fry pours water into it, and points as the wheel spins.

"Look!"

Ginny then looks at him and smiles. "That is about the coolest thing I've ever seen."

"Really?" Fry asks. Ginny comes from a world with magic after all.

"Yes, really, We don't have something like that in my world." Magic is old hat to her.

"Don't the muggles in your world have them for making electricity, or grinding corn?" Guppy asks.

Fry pushes a rubber duck over to her.

Ginny smiles as she thinks of the first time her dad seen Harry when she seen the duck. She then looks up at Guppy. "Oh I think so likely. But I've never seen one, personally."

"That's a shame. I mean, even with magic, you all live in the muggle world too."

"Yes, we do. But, I don't know all the ins adn outs of why they want our worlds so separate unless it's so that muggles don't try to fix all issues with magic."

"So how do you go shopping and things?"

"We have stores and shops. We grow a lot of our own. You should come to Diagon Alley or Hogmeade sometime."

She smiles

"Are they local? All over the country."

"Those are the towns we can go that is allowed Magic. Local I think. I am not totally sure. But you can use Floo or Apperate to get there."

"How does that work then?" Guppy asks.

"Apperate is a spell you do. Floo powder is a network of fireplaces. Oh, I forgot Portkeys."

"What's a porky?" Guppy asks.

"A Portkey is an object with a spell on it. Who ever touches it after the spell is cast will be transported to a preselected location."

"What if the wrong person touches it?"

"They they go where ever it's headed. It doesn't matter if you know what it is if you touch it you are transported."

A sadness crosses her eyes as she thinks of the Triwizard.

"Very, it's why they are supposed to be monitored and have ministry permission to use them."

"That sounds just as well." Guppy says. "Otherwise people would be zipping around all over the place."

She smiles then. "This is a lovely party."

Not a subtle subject change.

"That's right, it's Coral's party." Guppy says. "Because it's her birthday."
