Guppy's 30th Birthday Party

Having collected everyone from the bar, Guppy leads them back through to the house, where they enter through the kitchen.

The living room furniture has been mostly moved out of the way, and that's where the most of the party has been set up. The sofa and some chairs are around the edge of the room, and there's music playing. The kitchen is a bit small so the food is being taken through into the dining room. Also a little on the small side, but enough for purpose. All of the baby gates are open on the ground floor, but not on the stairs.

Upstairs, the spare bedroom has been set aside for any little people at the party. It's a bit quieter, with baby-sized food, some toys, and a DVD of Pingu playing.

"That sucks."

A monument is small compensation, he's sure.

"So, wait. Not the actual Death Ray?"

She shrugs, "I'm getting used to it. Sorta."

There's a long pause, and a grasping at how to best explain.

"The Death Ray blew up, and when it did, the handle got me in the chest."

"That's... I don't know what that is."

Nothing good.

A very Gallic shrug.

"I've got most everything that was important to me in Milliways, and I'm meeting new friends every day. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise."

"I hope so."

Enzo's not sure he could see it so optimistically. He loves Milliways, but he loves his home even more.

She takes another bite of food.

"There's no sense in being upset about it, if you ask me. Doesn't do any good."

"That's true. And there's worse places to be dead!"

It's possible that came out wrong.

[identity profile] caring-hand.livejournal.com 2009-11-28 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
She agrees, "Granted there's probably better two, but at least I have my friends..."

That probably came out weird too.

"That's the most important thing," he says, and means it.

She nods. "And making new ones is too!"

She likes new friends.

"Totally!" He grins. "You should see if you can spot me in the bar."

Innocent look.

"I'll do that," she says, grinning. "I'm not downstairs a lot, but the next time I am, I'll be sure to be on the lookout."
