Guppy's 30th Birthday Party

Having collected everyone from the bar, Guppy leads them back through to the house, where they enter through the kitchen.

The living room furniture has been mostly moved out of the way, and that's where the most of the party has been set up. The sofa and some chairs are around the edge of the room, and there's music playing. The kitchen is a bit small so the food is being taken through into the dining room. Also a little on the small side, but enough for purpose. All of the baby gates are open on the ground floor, but not on the stairs.

Upstairs, the spare bedroom has been set aside for any little people at the party. It's a bit quieter, with baby-sized food, some toys, and a DVD of Pingu playing.

Frogspawn grins and ruffles his hair.

"Woop!" Alex says again. "Fordy love mat poit the batty wins!"

"Oh!" Frogspawn suddenly gets it. "Sorry Alex, no Wii tonight. Penguin tonight."

Gah! Curse his hair for being so rufflable!

"What was he saying?"

"Woop is the noise that the little tennis player makes when he plays on the Wii. He can't hit the ball, but he likes to make the noise."

"Oh. Is that a... Game system?"

"It's not a computer." Frogspawn says, suddenly aware of a breach of tact. "Just a toy that makes noises."

"Okay. It's okay for you to play computer games, though," Enzo says hastily. "Guppy had one checked, you don't have sprites. I was just curious."

"Oh, that's all right then. Sorry, it is a bit like a computer, I was a bit worried I might scare or offend you."

"Only if you were playing Games without checking first," he says seriously. "But Guppy wouldn't do that."

"No, he wouldn't. Sorry, I don't go to the bar, so I don't find out everything."

Alex takes his new penguin over to the tv.

"Pingu."

Frogspawn moves over and presses the button for the next episode of Pingu.

"I think he'd watch that all day if he could."
